Guy Bigland

Guy Bigland works with language and systems with particular interest in potential and limitation within the structures we use to navigate and construct experience. The work emerges from time spent over-simplifying, putting things in order, and tidying up.

In 2015 their book ‘Things You Have Done’ won the Sheffield International Artists’ Book Prize. Another book, ‘All the Paintings in the Museum’ was named in a-n’s (The Artists Information Company) top ten artists’ books of 2015. In 2017 he delivered two versions of a text work ‘About is Like About’ as public commissions and, in 2018, produced work for a collaborative performance ‘Dancing About Architecture’, with the MIT Department of Architecture, Massachusetts, USA.

His books are held in public collections in Austria, Germany, Norway, USA and the UK as well as numerous private collections worldwide.
