Fiona Hackett

Fiona Hackett is a visual artist whose practice engages with themes of space and place, exploring and examining the human experience in the world through still and moving image and texts. She has been making and exhibiting work for over fifteen years, has exhibited in solo and selected group shows and has been published both nationally and internationally.

In 2021, ‘The Long Disease: LA Stories’ was published emanating from a long term project undertaken in Los Angeles, California. An exhibition of this work was subsequently exhibited in the RHA Gallery in September 2021 and resulted in being included in The Telegraph Newspaper’s Top 10 Irish photographers of 2021. Fiona has participated in PhotoMuseum Ireland’s group exhibition ‘In Our Own Image: The Politics of Place’ (2022). Previously, she held a solo exhibition in Lexicon, Dun Laoghaire (2017) for ‘Mausoleums of Precious Belongings’; UCD (2012) for ‘Terra Incognita’ and Mermaid Arts Centre (2008) for ‘Fade Out’. In 2019, she received the Curtin-O’Donoghue Progressive Vision Photography Prize at the RHA 189th Annual Exhibition. She has been selected for group exhibitions such as EV+A and Mumbai‘s Bienniale Photography Festival and her work has also featured in Condé Nast’s Architectural Digest (India), Katalog (Denmark), Landscapes Journal (UK) and Photoworks Showcase (UK).
