Éireann Lorsung

Éireann Lorsung is a writer and artist, often working in an expanded field that takes both image and text into account. She has been in migration since 2007 and has recently come to Ireland to work at UCD. Using walking, drawing, and note-taking as a method, she pays close attention to the natural world and the way power moves through and across human/social relations to make work that is concerned with place, time, and season. This includes three collections of poetry published by Milkweed Editions (US; milkweed.org), visual and performance work, and collaborations with electronic musician Matthew Houston.

Although bookmaking has been part of her practice for a long time, since arriving in Dublin she has been working with stamps, an electric typewriter, and a photocopier to make lo-fi books without outsourcing production.
