Iollann Ó Murchú is an Irish photographic artist based between Dublin and London.
His practice lies predominantly within the Irish landscape, contextualised by Irish mythology and folklore created by his ancestors. The fantastical and transcendent space of mythology is where Iollann explores through a range of forms, threading the line between fact and fiction to create conceptual work.
Iollann has recently completed an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography (with distinction) at UAL: London College of Communication. His work has been exhibited in Ireland and London and has been published by the British Journal of Photography. He was recently granted the ‘Emerging Artist Award 2023’ at the Droichead Arts Centre, Ireland, which awarded him with his first Solo Show.
